Dons ace aims to stay in fold

Aberdeen, 11:57, November 20, 2008

Dons striker Lee Miller admits he thought team-mate David Clarkson was winding him up when he said he'd get on against Argentina.

The Aberdeen striker, a late addition to George Burley's squad for last night's friendly, was delighted to pull on the Scotland jersey again but knows it will be tough to hang onto the position.

"It was brilliant, I thought David Clarkson was winding me up at half-time to be completely honest," Miller said. "Obviously I came into the squad because of a few call-offs and it was great to get a half under my belt.

"I was quite happy with my performance as I got a couple of half chances, but I think it was a good all round performance by the boys.

"Staying in will be very hard and consistency is the key with any footballer.

"Every footballer likes to play well every single week, it's hard to do so and if I can maintain my consistency but score a few goals as well, I will stay in the squad."
