Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood is hoping striker Darren Mackie stays with the club for the rest of his career.
The 26-year-old's current deal runs out in the summer but it appears Calderwood wants the frontman, who is closing in on racking up 100 goals for the Dons, to stay at Pittodrie so the club can benefit from more of his goals.
Calderwood told the Press & Journal: "Darren should be thinking about reaching the 100-goal target because he's well on the way.
"If he stays fit he's more than capable of getting 15 goals a season, so that target is well within his range. For a lad who's an Aberdeen fan it would be a great achievement and I wish him the best of luck.
"It would probably mean spending the rest of his career with Aberdeen if he's to reach that landmark, but if he's scoring regularly I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem."
He added: "Some people will argue that Darren should have scored a lot more goals already, but if he was that prolific he wouldn't be at Aberdeen.
"I'm happy to have a striker who gets among the goals on a consistent basis and he's a gem to work with."
