New boy ready to seal up Dons

Aberdeen, 10:14, August 12, 2009 ,

Jerel Ifil is looking forward to helping shore up Aberdeen's leaky defence after agreeing to sign a two-year contract at Pittodrie.

The 27-year-old centre-back has agreed terms and virtually wrapped up a move north of the border which will see him become one of the highest paid players at the SPL club. And Ifil, who has been released by Swindon Town in order to move to Scotland, is due to make his debut against Celtic on Saturday.
Ifil said: "This is a big move but I have the blessing of my wife and we will move together.
"Mark McGhee was happy with the way I played against Hull as a trialist at the weekend and I would not have played if this move was not a possibility.
"There are some big clubs in the SPL and Aberdeen want me in for Saturday's game."
