Accrington manager Paul Cook felt there were positives to take from his side's performance in the Capital One Cup defeat to Carlisle.

A first-half goal from winger Matty Robson was all that separated the npower League One side and Stanley at Brunton Park. Cook, who hopes to further strengthen his squad in the coming week, said: "I thought the lads were terrific. "I don't like getting beaten and there were a few flaws, particularly the finishing. I knew this would be a tough game, but in the second half we controlled the tempo and possession. "We didn't take our chances and will be working on that on the training ground. We are a work in progress and will be making two or three signings this week."
