Stanley sweating on Hatfield

Will Hatfield is an injury doubt for manager Paul Cook as Accrington make the trip to Bristol Rovers in npower League Two.

Former Leeds trainee Hatfield was one of several senior players to turn out for Stanley's second string in midweek and suffered an ankle injury before Wigan were beaten 9-8 on penalties in the semi-final of the Lancashire Senior Cup. Bryan Hughes, Toto Nsiala and Kurtis Guthrie also featured and came through unscathed, with the latter notching his side's goal. On-loan Wigan defender Rob Kiernan had surgery to remove a piece of bone from his ankle this week and the long-term injury situation at the Crown Ground remains broadly the same. Kiernan's fellow defenders Dean Winnard (ankle), Danny Coid (knee) and Sean Hessey (hamstring) are all yet to be ready for a return to action.
