Holdsworth happy Herd stays

Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth has spoken of his delight at retaining the services of captain Ben Herd amid interest from npower League One sides.

Herd was made a new offer by the Shots with his current deal set to expire this summer and has opted to stay with the club. Holdsworth told the club's official website: "Ben's been a solid captain, he handles himself well. "I want him to lead the team and I want him to grow even more. We want the take the club to another level."
