Machala relishing Warta arrival
Aldershot chairman Kris Machala is looking forward to bringing a touch of his native Poland to the EBB Stadium on Friday evening.
Machala, born in Warsaw before arriving in England in 1981, has spearheaded Town's bid to bring Polish side Warta Poznan to Hampshire for a pre-season friendly. "It is the first international match for Aldershot Town and I am very happy about that," Machala said. "Warta are a club with a strong tradition. It is a very well known club in Poland. They are ambitious and play in the national stadium in Poznan which was recently used in Euro 2012. "They want to become one of the biggest clubs in Poland so it will be an interesting time to see what level they represent against us. I hope that we get a good crowd on Friday evening and have a good international feel." Warta finished 10th in Poland's second tier last season.
