The Frenchman is the club’s longest-serving manager in terms of matches, as well as being the club’s most successful coach.

In 2007/08 Arsenal finished third in the Premiership but the Gunners have championed the Premiership a total of three times.

The club’s home ground is The Emirates Stadium in north London, having moved from their Highbury home in 2006, which has a capacity of over 60,000.

Prominent players in the squad for 2008/09 season include: Emmanuel Adebayor, Manuel Almunia, Cesc Fàbregas and William Gallas while players like Thiery Henry, Patrick Viera, David Seaman and Ian Wright are among a long list of heroes from the past.
