AA reflects on lost spark

Andrey Arshavin reckons he is "more effective" these days although he still hankers for the days when he was scoring "beautiful goals".

The Russia ace has hit great heights for the Gunners since joining from Zenit St Petersburg 18 months ago - including four goals in a match against Liverpool - but he is also prone to drifting out of games.
Injuries have played their part in his hit-or-miss form but Arshavin also says the English game has had an effect as well.
He told Sport-Express: "As for football I can say that my style has altered - it is more effective, but less sparkling.
"I don't remember when was the last time I scored a really beautiful goal.
"It is frustrating. I tried to analyse this, but can find no answers.
"It is likely that my injuries last year had an effect, because on three occasions I was out for a month, but it is feeble to talk about injuries."

We dont care if it comes off your chin and lands in the opposition's net Andrey. They all count so keep scoring'em, in whatever manner!
