Arsenal winger Ryo Miyaichi will not be joining Ajax on a season-long loan according to the Dutch side's coach Frank de Boer.
The club's director of football and ex-Gunners favourite Marc Overmars, had suggested that Ajax were seriously considering a move for the Japanese youngster, but de Boer has now revealed that they are setting their sights on other targets. Miyaichi, who is currently on Arsenal's pre-season tour of Asia, was loaned to Bolton Wanderers for the second half of last season and manager Arsene Wenger is again thought to be keen to get him further experience away from the Emirates Stadium. The 19-year-old is no stranger to the Eredivisie having also enjoyed a 12-match stint with Feyenoord soon after joining the Gunners but de Boer is adamant he won't be offering him a return to the Netherlands. He told Eredivisie Live: "In my opinion, he is not an option anymore. "There are several candidates. We'll know more soon." Miyaichi has made just two appearances for the Gunners' first-team in competitive action so far, both as a substitute in Carling Cup ties. A return to Bolton could be a more realistic prospect for the winger with Trotters boss Owen Coyle having expressed an interest in taking him back.
