Arsenal head race for young star

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is said to be leading the chase to bring Anderlecht star striker Romelu Lukaku to the Premier League.

The 17-year-old Belgium international has been hailed as the new Didier Drogba and there are a queue of clubs interested with Arsenal battling the likes of Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona for his services.
Reports in Belgium claim Arsenal have beaten off the competition for the youngster, who netted 19 times last season, although whether they they will pay £12.5m up front for the player remains to be seen.
