Arsenal star pinpoints Barcelona threat
Arsenal, 16:30, June 17, 2009 ,
Arsenal defender Kieron Gibbs has pinpointed Spanish Under-21 star Bojan Krkic as the main threat ahead of tomorrow's clash in Sweden.
The Gunners' left-back had a fine game in the young England side's 2-1 win over Finland on Monday, but knows a much sterner test of their tournament credentials awaits when they take on Spain on Thursday night.
"I know that their [senior] team are European champions [Euro 2008] and they will be technically skilful, but we've got to do our best and keep doing what we're doing," said Gibbs.
"Bojan will obviously be a threat, and he must have a decent amount of ability due to him playing for the Champions League winners."
England look set to be without suspended Michael Mancienne and injured Micah Richards for the second Group B fixture, but Gibbs believes Stuart Pearce's squad is strong enough to cope and rise to the challenge.
"It's important for us to watch all of their players as they'll all be at the top of their game. But looking at our team and the ability we've got, we've certainly got what it takes to match them."
With Theo Walcott set to be restored to the starting line-up, Arsenal fans will have a keen eye on events in Sweden and patriotic punters are taking advantage of the £10 Free Bet and backing the Three Lions to record their second success of the tournament.
