Barca to launch Song bid

Barcelona are ready to step up their interest in Arsenal midfielder Alex Song but are unwilling to match the £15million valuation.

The Catalan giants are set to take their interest to the next level after their initial approach was not completely dismissed by Arsenal and an offer could be in the pipeline. Song himself would be keen on a move to the Nou Camp and is interested to hear what they have to say but the main stumbling block will be the fee as Barca are reluctant to go that high. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is now looking to draft in another defensive midfielder as a replacement and if he can find someone then it will open the door for Song to move on.
