Boss reveals Wilshere fitness update
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted the next few weeks will be crucial in determining whether Jack Wilshere will play in Euro 2012.
The 20-year-old midfielder injured his ankle in pre-season and has not featured for the Gunners throughout this campaign. Wenger has admitted the club is closely managing his recovery but believes it could be a tall order for Wilshere to play for England this summer. Wenger said: "To go to a big competition without having played at all is impossible. "In the next four or five weeks we will know more and the next three weeks will be decisive. "You would think a player who wants to play in June will have to be competitive at the end of April." In the meantime, Wenger will be hoping his Arsenal side can bounce back from last weekend's defeat to QPR when they take on Manchester City at the Emirates on Sunday. Second-placed City enter the fixture in a poor run of form and you can use your free bet to back Wenger's men to boost their challenge for third place by hampering the Etihad side's title ambitions. Last week's defeat for the Gunners allowed Spurs to draw level in the race for third and Wenger knows his side will need to pick up three points against City if they want to hold on to their advantage, particularly if Tottenham beat Sunderland in their fixture on Saturday.
