City set to raise RVP cash

Manchester City will fund a move for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie by selling Emmanuel Adebayor to Tottenham.
City are hot favourites to land Van Persie after the Dutchman revealed he would not be signing a new contract with the Gunners, but Roberto Mancini has been told he needs to make room by offloading another striker.
Former Gunners star Adebayor looks to be that player and City hope to get him off the wage bill by selling him to Spurs, where he impressed on loan last season, for £5million.
Mancini is also aware that Van Persie is reluctant to sign for City while Adebayor is at the club after the duo had a huge bust up back in 2009 when the Togo star stamped on the Dutchman.
Adebayor leaving will clear the way for a move and City would use the money saved to meet Van Persie's wage demands which are thought to be £200,000 a week.
Meanwhile, there have also been suggestions City could offer Edin Dzeko in a player-plus-cash deal.
