Fiorentina keen on Gunners flop

Fiorentina are emerging as the frontrunners for Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh, who seems destined to move on in the coming weeks.
The Moroccan has slipped right down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is now ready to offload him after a return of just 12 goals from 63 appearances during his two year stay in London.
Chamakh, who was signed by Wenger from Bordeaux, has accepted that his time at the club is over following the arrivals of fellow forwards Lukas Podolski and Oliver Giroud this summer and a switch to Italy would appeal to him.
The Serie A side are reportedly prepared to pay up to £4m for the player, but a potential return to his old club Bordeaux has already been ruled out by their club president Jean-Louis Triaud.
Even the possible departure of Robin van Persie in the wake of his decision to reject a new contract with the Gunners, is unlikely to alter Wenger's desire to move the 28-year-old on.
