Arsenal forward Gervinho insists he is happy to play as a lone striker, despite his failure to impress against Schalke.

Boss Arsene Wenger used Gervinho in a lone striker role against Schalke in the midweek Champions League defeat after the Ivorian was also used in a similar position against Olympiakos earlier in the competition.
Gervinho has come in for some criticism following his performance against German side Schalke, but the Gunners forward insists he is comfortable in the role and hopes for more chances to impress as a central striker.
"In the middle, it gives you lots of options," he told the official Arsenal magazine. "You can make a run on the right, on the left, deep in the centre. It's a big advantage. I feel good there and I am working hard to improve in that position. I don't have the physical ability to play in the air or to hold the ball up so I am learning how I can make the best of my qualities for that position.
"I am working very hard at training to improve my efficiency, to be more clinical in front of goal. This has been my flaw so far. I know I still have a lot more to learn but I am more confident now. The start of the season and my goals so far have showed that I have improved a lot."
