Arsene Wenger has reiterated his desire to keep Robin van Persie at Arsenal despite strong interest in the star striker.

The Gunners' chief has spoken out following news that Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus have all made concrete offers to sign the Dutch international this summer after he made it clear he would not be signing a new deal extension beyond next summer. Wenger is desperate to have 28-year-old Van Persie still in his plans when the new Premier League campaign gets underway following his 36 goals for the club in all competitions last term. "For me, Van Persie is one of the best strikers in the world, if not the best, and my desire is to keep him at the club." he told Arsenal Player. "As for the rest, I will do what is in the best interests of Arsenal Football Club. That, at the moment, is where we are. There is not a lot more to say than that." United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed his club's bid for Van Persie on Friday evening, but so far none of the three interested clubs have met Arsenal's £30million asking price.
