Gunners defender linked
Newcastle could be ready to offer Johan Djourou a way out of Arsenal by making a move in the January transfer window.
Djourou has slipped further down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium and is looking to move on to pastures new in order to play more regular football.
The defender has been linked with a move to Italian outfit Napoli but Newcastle are also said to be in the running as Alan Pardew looks to bolster his defence in the new year.
The Swiss star appeals to Pardew as not only can he play in central defence he can also slot in at right-back, which has been a problem area for the Magpies this season.
Pardew has already drawn up a long list of transfer targets with a view to making a move in January and Djourou is said to be high on it according to reports.
