Gunners in for Cottagers ace
Arsenal are ready to make their move for Clint Dempsey but Fulham boss Martin Jol would not be drawn on the rumours.
The American international fired home his 23rd goal of the season as Fulham beat Sunderland 2-1 on Sunday and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger wants to do a deal.
Wenger sees Dempsey as the ideal player to sit just behind Robin van Persie and Lukas Podolski in a new look side next season and is ready to pay the going rate to land the 29-year-old.
Liverpool have also been strongly linked with a move but Cottagers boss Martin Jol was keen to dismiss the rumours after watching his side beat the Blacks Cats.
"If you don't mind, I don't want to think about that kind of negativity," he revealed after the game when quizzed about the possibility of players leaving in the summer.
"I want to enjoy today and I enjoyed it before the match, which is probably the first time this season because there was not a lot to lose."
