Gunners to increase defender bid

Arsenal are reportedly ready to up their offer for Everton centre half Phil Jagielka to a whopping £18m.
Arsene Wenger is still keen to land another central defender, despite the £10m signing of Lorient centre-back Laurent Koscielny, as he has lost the services of William Gallas and Mikael Silvestre this summer.
Everton have already apparently turned down an offer of £14m for the former Sheffield United player, but with the Gunners set to make a fresh move for the 27-year-old, it could prove to be too much money for the Goodison board to turn down.
