Fiorentina have denied making a bid for Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh, claiming the player's wages would scupper a move.

The Gunners are keen to offload the Moroccan this summer and boss Arsene Wenger claimed earlier in the week that the Italian side had made an offer to take him to Serie A.
However Viola sporting director Daniele Prade has dismissed that claim and says the 28-year-old's wage demands alone would prevent a deal going through.
"Have we made an offer for Chamakh? We have not made one because he earns three million euros (per season)," Prade told SportItalia.
Chamakh would have to take a serious wage cut for a deal to happen but he is said to be happy at Arsenal and will no doubt sit tight and see out his contract unless another club can match his demands.
