Mancini cool on Van Persie
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini says Arsenal striker Robin van Persie will not be heading to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
City are keen on the Gunners striker but Mancini has been unable to make room by cashing in on some of his current strikers and a move now looks highly-unlikely.
Mancini needs to offload Emmanuel Adebayor, Edin Dzeko or Carlos Tevez to fund a deal and for now all three are staying put meaning Van Persie is a no go.
When quizzed about the possibility of signing the Dutchman, Mancini told Sky Sport Italia: "Van Persie? No, I don't think he will come here."
With Juventus also said to be out of the running that could leave the door open for Manchester United to swoop, while it has also been suggested the player could decide to do a U-turn and sign a new deal with the Gunners.
