Midfielder calls for Samba move
Midfielder Denilson has urged Brazilian teammate Willian to reject a move to Chelsea and join him at Arsenal instead.
Chelsea are hoping to complete a £25 million deal for Shakhtar Donetsk star Willian as they look to strengthen their squad after another disappointing Champions League campaign which saw them exit at the quarter-final stage on Wednesday night.
Liverpool are also understood to be internested in the 22-year-old but Denilson is aware of the quality that Willian possesses and believes he would flourish with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, the Arsenal midfielder said: "Willian would be perfect for Arsenal. I know him well from the Brazil youth team and he had a real winning mentality even then.
"I've heard Chelsea are interested but his character could improve our team and his style would fit much better at Arsenal.
"We need match-winners at Arsenal and knowing what he does for Shakhtar and the national team I know he could do the same in England.
"He has great vision and ability and is one of the best creative players I have played with.
"I've spoken to him and told him that he could be a success with us."
