Midfielder linked with switch
Arsenal are in the race for Lille's attacking midfielder Eden Hazard after his proposed move to Real Madrid appears to be off.
Arsene Wenger is not alone in wanting the exciting forward as Inter Milan, Chelsea, and Manchester City are all ready to step in if his move to Madrid falls through.
Real thought they had a pre-contract deal agreed with the player, who is thought of as one of the best emerging talents in Europe, but former Inter Milan defender Javier Zanetti has revealed on French radio that they are after him, which opens the door to everyone else making a move.
Zanetti said: "Hazard is a player I like. I know from a reliable source that the club are following him and are interested in his signature. He is a huge talent, but is very young and can still improve."
Gunners boss Wenger is a big admirer of the 20-year-old and was heavily linked with a move to bring Hazard to the Emirates Stadium during the close season, although the price tag of £40m may put him off.
