Podolski shines on debut

Lukas Podolski grabbed his first goals for Arsenal against Cologne but says it will be another fortnight before he is fully fit.

The German star scored a brace in the 4-0 victory against the club he left in the summer to give the Gunners fans a taste of things to come in the forthcoming campaign.
Podolski's first came from the penalty spot before he finished off a great move for his second just before the interval. The German impressed but says it will be another couple of weeks before he has full match sharpness.
"First match and first goals," he revealed. "I was very surprised by the reaction of the Arsenal fans. I heard them chanting my name and it was crazy.
"I have felt part of Arsenal from the first day, to score in my first match was great. I need another two weeks to be fully ready."
Thomas Vermaelen and Gervinho got the other goals, while new signings Santi Cazorla and Olivier Giroud also impressed after being handed run outs by Wenger.
