Positive midfielder news
Jack Wilshere is making good progress in his recovery from an ankle injury and could reportedly return as early as next month.
The young midfielder suffered the injury during pre-season and the initial diagnosis was that the 19-year-old would not be back for the Gunners until December.
However, he has been responding to treatment well and is said to be eyeing a quicker-than-expected return to first-team contention - with some reports even suggesting the England international could be available come mid-October.
Wilshere, who watched from the stands as the Gunners eventually overcame Shrewsbury in the Carling Cup on Tuesday, will not be rushed back by the club but his fitness is being closely monitored.
If it is felt he is ready to return sooner than expected, then he is likely to be brought back by Arsene Wenger - especially considering the Gunners' poor start to the season.
