Robin Van Persie says he is satisfied that his new contract at Arsenal gives him the respect he feels he deserves.
The 25-year-old recently put pen to paper on a lucrative new four-year deal to stay at the Emirates despite reported interest from rivals Chelsea, Manchester City, Internazionale and Juventus.
The talented Dutchman says his decision to sign a new contract was not about money alone and feels at ease now that he is among the club's top earners.
He told the Sunday Mirror: "When I signed my first contract at Arsenal, I was not on big money at all.
"Now the club have shown their appreciation. But it is not the money-side why I signed a new deal.
"All I want to feel is a bit of respect and a good relationship with everyone at the club. And that's what I have here."
