Rosicky boost for Gunners

Arsenal, 12:33, November 12, 2008

Arsenal midfielder Tomas Rosicky could be back in the first team within two months following surgery on a tendon injury.

The 28-year-old Czech Republic star has not figured since picking up the injury against Newcastle back in January but the situation is now looking a lot better.

Rosicky initially underwent surgery in May but the operation did not do the trick and the player's progress over the last few months has been slow to say the least.

The midfielder has now had further surgery in Germany and boss Arsene Wenger is optimistic he will be back sooner rather than later.

"The situation looks very positive," Wenger said. "They have taken a lot of scar tissue out of his leg and the vibes I got from the surgeon were very positive.

"I think he could return between six to eight weeks."
