RVP bid rejected

Serie A champions Juventus are reported to have failed with an £8million move for Arsenal striker Robin van Persie.

Juve have long been linked with a move for the Dutchman and the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport now claim they are planning an improved bid after failing with an initial offer of £8million. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger recently dismissed the suggestion that Van Persie would consider a move to Serie A, but that has not stopped Juve from trying their luck with a bid. Van Persie would prefer to stay in England and is holding out for a move to Manchester City, but Juve could test his and Arsenal's resolve by making an improved offer.
