Shock swap mooted

Arsenal, 09:55, February 22, 2012

Chelsea are lining up a swoop for Theo Walcott with reports claiming Daniel Sturridge could move to Arsenal as part of the deal.

The Gunners are known to be very keen on Sturridge who is unsettled at Stamford Bridge as the Blues continue to stall on offering him a new deal and Arsene Wenger has been linked with a summer move.
However the Frenchman could now be willing to offer Walcott as bait following another disappointing season from the winger, who is struggling to fulfill his undoubted potential.
Wenger looks ready to cut his losses on the player, who only has just over a year to run on his current deal, but he would still be looking for a fee in the region of £10million.
The Sun newspaper now claim a swap deal is on the cards that could see Walcott plus cash head to the Bridge with talented striker Sturridge moving the other way.
Everything will hinge on who finishes in the Champions League, while the futures of Wenger and his Chelsea counterpart remain shrouded in doubt.
