Striker injury woe

Robin Van Persie's ankle injury is worse than was at first feared and he will be out of action until mid October at the earliest.
The Dutch striker, who missed most of last season with an ankle injury, picked up the problem in the win over Blackburn but it was not thought to be too bad at first.
Further investigation has revealed that he will now miss the first two Champions League fixtures as well as the Premier League match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile Samir Nasri has returned to training after damaging his knee on the opening day against Liverpool.
