Striker reveals injury verdict
Arsenal, 09:13, November 16, 2009 ,
Arsenal could be without Robin van Persie for six weeks after it was confirmed the striker tore ankle ligaments playing for Holland.
The Gunners ace picked up the injury during Saturday's friendly clash against Italy and the Dutch football authorities have confirmed that the player has damaged ligaments in his ankle and is facing a spell out.
"Robin van Persie has partially torn the ligaments in his right ankle.," A KNVB statement read. "Tests in hospital have confirmed this."
Meanwhile, Van Persie has also confirmed the injury and claims he will be missing for a minimum of four weeks.
"I have had a scan," he revealed. "I am probably out for between four and six weeks."
The news comes as a huge blow to boss Arsene Wenger as the Dutchman has been in fine form this season and his presence in the Gunners line up will be sorely missed.
