Theo Walcott is ready to snub interest from Chelsea and sign a new deal with Arsenal but admits it could take time.
The winger only has 12 months remaining on his current contract and the fact he has yet to sign a new one has led to reports he could move on this summer or let it run down and leave for free next year. Chelsea are known to be very keen on the player, while Liverpool have also been linked, but Walcott has given his clearest indication yet that he will eventually sign on the dotted line with the Gunners. Walcott's agent is locked in talks with Gunners officials over the deal and he has told the fans the delay is nothing to worry about. "The club and my agent are talking but it is a slow process and my last contract took six months to agree - but it will come," Walcott said of the situation. "We'll see what happens but I am not too bothered about it. I am keen to work with the team just trying to get fit and there is still got a long way to go yet."
