Wenger back in for strike ace
Arsenal, 08:16, November 30, 2009 ,
Arsenal are expected to step up their interest in Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh after losing Robin van Persie to injury.
The Dutchman is set to undergo surgery on his ankle this week and the Gunners say they expect to be without their star striker for up to four months.
It means Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is desperate to sign another striker and reports claim he will step up his efforts to draft in Chamakh during the transfer window.
The Moroccan ace is known to be on Wenger's wanted list but he has so far been unable to agree a deal with the French club. However following the injury to van Persie, Wenger is expected to double his efforts and a January deal could be on the cards.
