Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to draft in Roma's Italian international midfielder Alberto Aquilani in January.
Wenger believes he has finally found someone to replace Mathieu Flamini who left for Italy at the end of last season and Aquilani is the man he wants to draft in.
Aquilani is known for his passing ability and long-range shooting and has spent the last six years playing for his home town club, but it could now be time for a fresh challenge.
Reports in Italy claim that Roma are heavily in debt and if the Gunners make a big enough offer for the 24-year-old, they might not be able to turn it down.
Wenger has been watching Aquilani for over a year but the time could be right to make a move although the Frenchman will no doubt face strong competition for his services.
