Wenger predicts "intense" race

Arsenal, 17:11, June 12, 2010 ,

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes next season's title race will be more "intense" than the 2009/2010 campaign.

The Gunners managed to keep up with the pace set by Manchester United and eventual winners Chelsea until April last season but Wenger feels the likes of Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur will be amongst the contenders next season.
"It will without a doubt be more intense," said Wenger. "You have Aston Villa, you have Man City, you have Tottenham and you have Liverpool plus the top three from last season, so it will always be more difficult."
Manchester City are expected to spend big in the summer and with Italian boss Roberto Mancini at the helm, punters may wish to use their free bet to back City to emerge as the surprise package next season.
However, Wenger has hinted he is ready to spend this summer and with a few key additions, the north London outfit may well win next season's Premier League title race.
