Wenger vows to keep star trio
Arsenal, 12:27, November 22, 2009 ,
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is hoping to tie William Gallas, Tomas Rosicky and Carlos Vela down to new deals at the Emirates Stadium.
Gallas and Rosicky and both due to fall out of contract next summer and would be free to talk to rival clubs when the January transfer window opens unless new deals can be sorted out.
Wenger says talks have been opened with the duo and is hopeful they will both commit their futures.
"We are speaking with Tomas and William, and I am optimistic to find a solution for both of them," the Frenchman has been quoted as saying in The People.
Meanwhile Vela has been linked with a move away but Wenger is again looking to offer him a new deal.
"We've had no offers for Carlos and we are extending his contract at the moment," he added. "Carlos was the reason I didn't replace Emmanuel Adebayor in the summer."
