Wenger wants two more
Arsene Wenger is confident of signing a new midfielder and defender before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
The Arsenal boss is keen to replace Alex Song as soon as possible, while he is also looking to draft in a new defender following injuries to Bacary Sagna and Laurent Koscielny.
Wenger is refusing to name his targets but has confirmed both positions need strengthening and is confident of landing his target before the window slams shut.
"We are looking to bring one more midfielder in, of course, and maybe one defender as well because we still feel we are short in some positions," he told the club's website.
Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin is known to be one target while AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes is also being strongly linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
