Benteke set for Villa move

Paul Lambert will bolster his Aston Villa forward line with Christian Benteke after a fee of around £6.5million was agreed with Genk.
The Villa chief has been desperate to add to his forward line before Friday's 11pm deadline and had a £7million bid for Fulham's American forward Clint Dempsey accepted earlier in the day.
However the player rebuffed Villa because he is still harbouring hopes of a late switch to Liverpool which left Lambert looking at other targets. And, it appears that 21-year-old Belgium international, Benteke, will now join.
Villa have already had a £5.5million bid snubbed for Benteke as Genk were thought to be looking for double that figure. But an extra £1million on top of the original offer appears to have been enough to persuade the club to sell.
Benteke, who has been compared to Didier Drogba and scored 18 goals for Genk in 33 appearances last season, was expected to leave when he was left out of his club side's Europa League victory against Lucerne on Thursday night.
He will pen a deal at Villa Park on the successful completion of a medical.
