Bundesliga talks for Villa target
Aston Villa target Bas Dost is in talks with Wolfsburg over a potential move from Heerenveen to the Bundesliga this summer.
The top scorer in the Dutch top flight, who scored a hat-trick at the weekend to take his tally to 28 for the season, held premilinary talks with Wolfsburg boss Felix Magath on Sunday.
Dost made a second appointment with the German club, who look destined to finish in mid-table this season, although he admits that he will have exploratory talks with other clubs.
Villa were linked to the 22-year-old when the club's Dutch scout Arthur Numan was spotted at one of Heerenveen's matches, but the striker's £6.5million price-tag may have put Villa Park officials off.
Dost's Heerenveen contract runs until mid-2015 but he looks destined to leave the Abe Lenstra Stadium this summer after his best ever season in front of goal.
He joined the Friesian club in the summer of 2010 from Heracles Almelo and has scored 41 goals in 62 Dutch league games.
