Ciaran Clark believes Aston Villa proved their doubters wrong by grabbing a point at Newcastle on Sunday.
Villa suffered successive defeats to West Ham and Everton in their opening Premier League fixtures, but bounced back with a well earned point in Newcastle last time out. Clark opened the scoring in the first half before a spectacular second-half strike from Hatem Ben Arfa ensured the spoils were shared. The defender felt his side did enough to win the game but was pleased with the draw regardless and has now called on Villa to push on after picking up their first Premier League point. "I'm very happy to with the goal, it's always nice to score," Clark told the Birmingham Mail. "I felt we could have got more from the game but we're happy to come up here and take a point. I think we proved a point after the first two games." He added: "At West Ham we started off brightly but never seemed to create any end product, and last week was a bit of a let down for us. "We know we are much better than that and hopefully we showed that."
