Duo doubts for Villa
Aston Villa, 09:53, December 1, 2009 ,
Aston Villa will check on the fitness of Stephen Warnock and Nigel Reo-Coker before naming their side to face Portsmouth.
Villa are hoping to book their place in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup at Fratton Park tonight but they may have to do it without Warnock and Reo-Coker.
Warnock missed the game against Tottenham at the weekend through illness, while Reo-Coker picked up an ankle injury against Spurs and both players face fitness tests.
Central defender James Collins is again ruled out with groin and thigh problems, but Brad Guzan is set to play in goal after his heroics in the last round and O'Neill believes he will become the long-term successor to Brad Friedel.
O'Neill said: "Brad (Guzan) has come in and done wonderfully well for us anytime he has played for us. He puts himself under this big pressure to be performing at an incredible level in these one-off games.
"In time I see no reason why he shouldn't be our keeper for a long, long time if everything works out."
