England ace has Villa future

Aston Villa have indicated that they will fend off interest in Craig Gardner this summer, despite speculation over his future.
The Villa youngster struggled to hold down a regular first-team place last season, with Premier League new-boys Wolves and Birmingham keeping tabs on his situation.
But Gardner, who has impressed for England during the current European Under-21 Championships, still remains an integral part of Martin O'Neill's plans at Villa Park.
Gardner's versatility makes him an important person to have in the squad and, despite making just three Premier League starts and 11 substitute appearances last season, he looks like playing more of a role this season.
