Frenchman quiet on Villa talk

Former Liverpool and Lyon boss Gerard Houllier has refused to rule out the possibility of taking a role at Aston Villa.

Houllier, who is currently the technical director for the French Football Federation, was in England for Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher's testimonial.
When asked about the prospect of a role at Villa Park, he said: "Never and always are two words you can't use in football."
Reports claim the Frenchman could become the director of football at Villa Park, rather than the manager, with current caretaker boss Kevin MacDonald remaining in charge of first-team affairs.
