Lambert losing Ramis race

Wigan are closing in on Aston Villa target Ivan Ramis with the Real Mallorca defender set to become their second signing of the summer.
Mallorca have been willing to cash in on the 27-year-old, but appeared determined to hold out for a fee in the region of £9million as the player still has three years to run on his current contract.
And, despite Villa, Sunderland and Swansea all being linked, it seems Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has won the race with a £4million bid and centre-half Ramis will get the opportunity to test his abilities in the Premier League at the DW Stadium.
If Wigan seal a deal for Ramis, he will link up with fellow new boy Fraser Fyvie, who signed from Aberdeen last week, while Villa boss Paul Lambert will have to get back to the drawing board to bolster his rearguard.
