Martin O'Neill has revealed he is open to discussing a new Aston Villa contract for midfielder Gareth Barry.
The England international has just 18 months remaining on his current deal at Villa Park and could move abroad next summer under Fifa's 'Webster Ruling'.
The 27-year-old saw his hopes of a move to Liverpool collapse in the summer and O'Neill has said he will wait for the call from Barry to start contract talks.
O'Neill revealed to the Express & Star: "I haven't spoken to Gareth about it, because he wanted to forget about the situation. He wanted to leave it and see.
"If Gareth wants to come down and discuss something with me I would certainly be open to any invitation."
