Winger Stewart Downing is set to make his long-awaited debut against Tottenham tomorrow but defender James Collins is still struggling.
Downing is desperate to show boss Martin O'Neill and the Villa fans what he's capable of, after finally overcoming the ankle problem that has kept him sidelined since his big-money move from Middlesbrough in the summer.
The England winger is in line to feature at some point against Spurs after coming through a reserves match unscathed in midweek but Collins remains troubled by the groin injury that has kept him out for three weeks and could be forced to delay his comeback by another week.
Dutch defender Wilfred Bouma remains sidelined by a long-term toe problem.
