England captain John Terry says he's 'excited' at having Aston Villa's Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young in the side to face Germany.
The Chelsea central defender has singled out the Villa pair and Tottenham striker Darren Bent for a mention as he feels the friendly clash in Berlin on Wednesday will give them the opportunity to force their way into coach Fabio Capello's long-term plans given that eight first-team regulars are missing due to injury problems.
Terry said: "I am excited by people like Gabriel Agbonlahor and Ashley Young. Gabby is a nightmare to play against upfront with his pace and we saw his goal against Arsenal at the weekend and what a threat he poses.
"Ashley Young as well has been playing very well and they are threats. It is good to come away and see what they are like day in and day out and maybe in 10-15 years time I will turn around to people and say 'I played with him'
"That is the excitement those kind of players bring to the squad.
"You try and tell me that Darren Bent and those kind of players are not welcoming this friendly game, the chance to play for their country. They are delighted to get their chance and we have to respect that.
"I will stress again that for a few players making their debuts in the squad, it is the chance for them to shine and to give it everything."
