Ciaran Clark has praised his defensive partnership with Ron Vlaar at Aston Villa and tipped it to get 'stronger and stronger.

Villa boss Paul Lambert has opted to pitch Clark into the heart of his defence in the opening games of the new Premier League campaign and Vlaar, who signed from Feyenoord during the summer transfer window has been paired up with him.
And, despite a shaky start with two successive defeats against West Ham and Everton, in which Clark was red carded for a professional foul, the duo have helped turn things around as the side drew at Newcastle and defeated Swansea at Villa Park.
Clark now feels he and Vlaar can continue their blossoming partnership and give Villa a solid base for the remainder of the campaign.
The 22-year-old Ireland international told the club's website: "It's brilliant to be playing alongside Ron.
"When he came in, we seemed to understand each other right from our first training session.
"The more we train and the more we play together, the stronger we'll get.
"We managed to pick up our first clean sheet on Saturday and hopefully there's many more to come.
"Ron is not only a good player, he's a good guy too. He's a big presence for us on the pitch and he seems to be a fan favourite already!"
